My Journey: From Guiding Innovation Legally to Expertise in AI Governance and Data Privacy
AI governance & privacy compliance — and more recently, neuroethics — are the pillars of my advisory practice. My journey into the complex worlds of AI governance and data privacy began over 15 years ago. Back then, while working as a legal consultant on investment projects for fintech startups in Eastern Europe, I encountered a critical practical challenge: how do you translate complex European data protection regulations (like GDPR and ePrivacy) and the emerging norms of the AI Act into clear, functional business processes without hindering the pace of development and innovation?
This challenge ignited a drive in me to systematically study privacy compliance, master international standards like ISO/IEC 27701, and integrate Data Protection by Design and Ethics by Design principles into agile sprints. My goal wasn’t just to meet regulatory requirements—I wanted to transform compliance into a competitive advantage.

Launch of DPO-as-a-Service

This service, enhanced with legal tech elements, enabled small and medium-sized IT companies to implement robust data protection standards and AI governance principles (later formalized in frameworks like ISO/IEC 42001) without the need for a large in-house legal team.
